Belgium Jazz Festival - Sept 2020

Enrique Simón (Madrid, 1975), is a professional pianist, as well as a producer, composer, arranger and musical director. He has a degree in Jazz Piano from the Higher Conservatory of Valencia, a Professional Degree in Classical Piano and a degree in Astrophysics from the Complutense University of Madrid. He has complemented his training in Madrid and Buenos Aires. In recent years, he shares his artistic activity with the teacher, as director of the Enrique Simón Academy, and has taught Jazz Piano and Modern Harmony classes at the Miguel Hernández University of Elche and at the “Groove In” modern music school of Murcia.

As an artist he has published five albums as a leader (on the Music Broker and Youkali Music labels), he has recorded on many others as a guest pianist (Snibor Records, Knockturne Records, etc.), and on a multitude of self-productions (Personal Matters by Amadeu Adell , Roy Hubbard, Frank Leadon, Seidagasa...).

In 2022 he recorded the album "It Goes On" with the young Belgian promise, trumpeter Emiel Verneert, and in 2023 with Roberto Gimeno's quintet "Lugares y Logaritmos". In 2020, under the Youkali Music label, he released the album "Lucentum" by Enrique Simón & Filip Verneert Quartet, an album recorded in Belgium and produced in France, which has been published on CD and Vinyl.

He has made various tours throughout Europe (France, Scotland, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Belgium...) and has played at important national and international festivals such as Ghent International Jazz Festival, Jazzenede Festival, Jazz in 't Park, Druivenfestival Hoeilaert, in Belgium, Zeeland Jazz Festival in Holland, Saint Genis des Fontaines Jazz Festival in France, and Peñíscola Jazz Festiva, Jazz a Castelló, Murajazz (Pamplona), Fimalba Jazz (Castellón), La Mar de Músicas (Cartagena), Músicas sin Fronteras (Rojales ), Murcia Jazz Festival and Pedralbes Festival (Barcelona) in Spain. In addition to important European Jazz Clubs such as Annecy Jazz Club in France, Ancienne Poste des Planches in Montreux-Switzerland, B-Flat Jazz Club in Bruges-Belgium, Jazzclub Alluvium in Oldenburg-Germany, Sounds Jazzclub in Brussels-Belgium or Jimmy Glass in Spain.

Together with the artist Marta Llenas, he is regularly hired on luxury cruises, where he has played in places such as Dubai, Jordan, Polynesia, Canada, the USA, the Caribbean, Singapore, Thailand, India or Italy. In Spain they have performed at the renowned Pedralbes Festival in Barcelona, Rojales Jazz Festival and Formenjazz. In addition, he has collaborated with the renowned artist Niño de Elche on two albums and for La2 on Spanish Television (TVE).

Additionally, he has collaborated as a score arranger for the French company Jelly Note, and as Musical Director he has directed the Jazz cycles 'Los Viernes del Palacio' in Torrevieja, the Hispano-Cuban Conferences of Torrevieja, and has collaborated with the Torrevieja International Auditorium in the Jazz area.
