Belgium Jazz Festival - Sept 2020

Enrique O. Simón (Madrid, 1975), is a professional pianist, as well as producer, composer, arranger and musical director. He studied classical piano, jazz and modern music in Torrevieja, Madrid, Valencia and Buenos Aires (Argentina). He has a degree in Astrophysics from the Complutense University of Madrid. In recent years, he shares his artistic activity with teaching, as a professor of Jazz Piano and Modern Harmony at the Miguel Hernández University of Elche and at the school of modern music "Groove In" in Murcia.

As an artist he has released five albums as a leader (on Music Broker and Youkali Music labels), has recorded on many others as a guest pianist (Snibor Records, Knockturne Records, etc...), and on a multitude of self-productions (Personal Matters by Amadeu Adell, Roy Hubbard, Frank Leadon, Seidagasa...).

The albums recorded in 2015 "Mayan" and "Meeting Patricia" led him to make several tours around Europe (France, Scotland, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Belgium...) and to play in important national and international festivals such as Ghent International Jazz Festival, Jazzenede Festival, Jazz in 't Park, Druivenfestival Hoeilaert, in Belgium, Zeeland Jazz Festival in Holland, Saint Genis des Fontaines Jazz Festival in France, and Peñíscola Jazz Festiva, Jazz a Castelló, Murajazz (Pamplona), Fimalba Jazz (Castellón), La Mar de Músicas (Cartagena), Músicas sin fronteras (Rojales) and Festival de Pedralbes (Barcelona) in Spain. Besides important European Jazz Clubs like Annecy Jazz Club in France, Ancienne Poste des Planches in Montreux-Switzerland, B-Flat Jazz Club in Bruges-Belgium, Jazzclub Alluvium in Oldenburg-Germany, Sounds Jazzclub in Brussels-Belgium or Jimmy Glass in Spain.

In 2020, the prestigious label Youkali Music (Madrid), once again has released the latest work of Enrique Simón a Cuarteto "Lucentum", an album that has been recorded in Belgium with Filip Verneert (Belgium), Gil Lachenal (France) and Pedro Vázquez (Spain), and has been published on CD and Vinyl.

Together with the artist Marta Llenas, he is regularly booked on luxury cruises, which has taken him to play in places like Dubai, Jordan, Polynesia, Canada, USA, the Caribbean, Singapore, Thailand, India or Italy. His last appearance was in Quintet at the renowned Pedralbes Festival in Barcelona. He has also collaborated with the renowned artist Niño de Elche in two albums and in a recording for Spanish Television (TVE).

He collaborates as an arranger of scores for the French company Jelly Note. As musical director, he has directed the Jazz cycles 'Los Viernes del Palacio' in Torrevieja with great success, he directs the Jornadas Hispano-cubanas de Torrevieja, and collaborates with the Auditorio Internacional de Torrevieja in the area of Jazz.
